Auditions to Join Singer Stage School

To join Singer Stage School this is what you have to do.

We hold auditions every May or June (in half term). The application will be on our website usually by the end of April (after Easter) or early May.

AUDITION for Singer Stage School 2013

Our audition day for this year will take place on May 30th 2013.

If you would like to book a place to be considered as a student, please fill out the application form (available April 2013) and post to our office address. Along with a photograph of you and any experience you may have had in a covering letter or CV. Please do not send until after Easter.

We will write to you within 14 days of receiving your application to confirm a time for you (and your parent if under 18) to attend. We will also confirm the venue too. You will spend half a day with us so we can get to know each other.

During the day you will be asked (depending on age and experience) to read a poem/monologue that you supply, and sing a short song and perform a dance.

We will have a choreographer set a really easy dance (for non dancers), and a more complicated one for those of you who can dance. This will give us the opportunity to see what technique and range you may have, so we can spot your potential for the future!

The audition day is really great and relaxed, all we want to do is meet you. It's always a friendly and relaxed atmosphere so please don't worry, or be nervous about coming along. Most of you usually don't want to go home after the morning or afternoon! Which is obviously a good sign.

At the audition you also get to meet a selection of my students and tutors who you will be able to chat to about any aspect of the school. Parents will meet with myself, our existing students and some of my fantastic tutors, who will be happy to answer any questions you may have on the day.

We are especially great at offering Pre-College training for those students looking to move on to Performing Arts Colleges after A Levels. Our students have graduated and continued training at colleges such as LAMDA, Arts Ed, Bird, Mountview and Urdang to name a few.

So look out for the form, and we look forward to meeting you in June or at our Summer School (see website after May for details).

Students will be contacted after the audition day, usually within 14 days, to inform you how you got on. Students who are offered a place usually start at Summer School, then Stage School in September.

We all look forward to meeting you soon!

DO YOU HAVE AUDITIONS ANY OTHER TIME?

YES - We usually save two places for our Summer School week If student (who auditioned on audition day) circumstances change and they are unable to start with us in the September, we then look for replacement students at our annual Summer School.

During Summer School week we work with the students for the whole week 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday. Sandra is there the whole time, so it gives us a good insight as to your personality and skills.

APART FROM THAT?

SOMETIMES Sandie talent spots from shows and performances she visits. (this only happens NOW and THEN)

Please Note

"We will pop the application form on line when we are ready to take the submissions for the audition day. We always have such a busy office so please don't send in any requests before the form goes on line. In case they get lost!

When we receive your application full details will be sent out to you approximately a week to 10 days before you attend. Just keep the day free and we will inform you what you need to bring (sheet music etc) and the time to arrive at the school.

We all look forward to meeting you soon!"

Warmest regards
