DAY ONE: July 31st
Annie Workshop with leading industry professionals
DAY TWO: August 1st
A huge trend abroad this year is Body Percussion which something fairly new to the UK and a great skill for you all to know. BODY PERCUSSION (& drumming) with the incredible Lee Meadows (Tap Dogs). We also have leading commercial dancer Rhian Duncan who is teaching you a HOUSE Dance.
“Body percussion is a high-energy, very accessible art form, providing an inspiring way to explore sound, rhythm and the physical relationship with music. The human body is a ready made instrument that everyone possesses. No previous experience in a particular dance genre is required, however a body percussion workshop will teach you many things that could cross into all other areas of dance. In Lee’s workshops, we will think like musicians rather than dancers, using our bodies to make different sounds. Imagine being a drummer and using your body as the drum kit. You will be amazed at the different sounds the human body can make!”
Rhian is one of the leading commercial & hip hop dancers in the industry. She recently danced with Rhianna for The Brit Awards, She has worked with many artists such as: Rihanna (Brit Awards) Ellie Goulding (Children In Need), Union J – Capital FM Jingle Bell Time Ball, Kiesza for Capital FM Summer Time Ball, Ella Eyre If I Go music video, Rough Copy and many more. Rhian’s other credits include ‘Grease Arena Tour’. Breakin Convention with ‘Birdgang’ and much more. Rhian is thrilled to be creating her work for us here.
DAY THREE: August 2nd
Presenting. Radio, Interviews, Voice Overs & Media P.R. with the fantastic breakfast presenter Su Harrison (HeartFM) who is one half of the breakfast team of Martin & Su. The other tutor for the day will be Jon Buxton who is a ‘voice and speech expert and actor’ Jon be working on a Radio Play.
The full times for these classes will be on the booking form.
The age groups per workshop day are age 6 to 10 years of age 11 to 18 years
“I am one half of Martin and Su on Heart Breakfast, we broadcast across Essex each weekday Morning between 6 am and 10 am and have done for the last sixteen and a half years. I got into radio because someone I worked with at another radio station said I talked a lot and made people laugh, there is a little bit more to presenting than that, as I have learnt, but it’s a good start. I have been extremely lucky whilst working as a presenter, getting to visit lots of places, see shows and concerts and meet lots of famous people.
Martin and I have had to interview lots of different celebrities from singers and actors right through to the people on ‘Towie’ and have also been interviewed ourselves for various publications, so we know how important it is to present ourselves in the correct manner, so I’m hoping to help the students who train with Sandra Singer with this area.”
